When I go to movies, I always ask myself if the movie is going to take me to a place I want to go. Do I really want to see what it was like on the deck of the Titanic, or in the cockpit of the USS Enterprize, or next to some prizefighter in a ring.
In Two Girls and a Guy, I can state with absolute clarity that it took me to a place (1) I did not want to go, and (2) I never would want to go. It is a story of two girls who find out their boyfriend is dating both of them at the same time and is not only lying about it, but is even using the same trite lines. They break into his apartment and confront him when he comes home. The entire movie then takes place in his living room, in one long .... long .... scene. For almost 2 hours, we watch the girls (1) cuss him out, using lots of profanity, (2) he tries to squirm out of it (3) they take a breather for a bit, then start in on him again, and (4) they kind of forgive him in the end. That's it! The whole movie ... 1 1/2 hours of it. After 10 minutes of confrontation, I was ready for closure. After 45 minutes of off/on confrontation, I was considering the girls idiots for sticking around (he is not even likable). After the entire movie, I was pleading with my friends to end this nightmare ... I was ready to confess to murder to stop watching the movie and GOOOOOOO!
As a moviegoer, do you want to witness this BS? I hope not! |
