The acting was terrible. Catherine Zeta Jones couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. T&A will make up for a lot in Hollywood. I'm picking on Catherine because she was the worst, but they were all bad. It actually hurt to watch this cast act.
The original 1963 version was a classic, truly one of the scariest films ever. The story and acting were excellant. The 1999 version, I just don't know. The special FX were cartoonish and the story was just plain dumb.
Let me give Hollywood a piece of advice, do not remake a classic and change the story. Odds are you are going to strike out and strike out they did. Also take it easy on the special FX the films now a days are starting to look more animated then anything. |
