Doing a movie about Son of Sam was a good idea but this movie came up way short in delivering. The the movie was about 2 hours and 20 minutes in length. With some more selective editing they could have shorten it to about 1 hour and 45 minutes and still gotten the same pointless point across. This movie had too many subplots that went nowhere nor did they add any significant substance to the movie. I would have liked to have seen more focus on David Berkowitz and a lot less on the street thugs that live their lives by Argumentum ad Populum. The only positive thing that I can say about this movie was that Mira Sorvino put on a pretty good performance. I'll give her acting performance a B+. John Leguizamo was miscast as one of the street thugs. The guy can't even act Italian, he acted Puerto Rican. Luckily for me I didn't spend money at the theater to see this movie and I only paid $1 to rent the DVD. |
