This film doesn't just please the gay/bi audience Get Real is really one of the best romantic-comedies I've seen. Mind you, though, that it is more of a drama.
The main actor of the film, Ben Silverstone, did an excellent job at playing Steven Carter, the main character. His performance at many times was nothing short of outstanding- from the moment he tells his parents off to the very end. The actors wo played Steve's closest friends were great, as well as the person who played Brad, Steven's love interest. Acting in this film definetely got an A.
The director did a great job of illustrating the fears, worries, and stress of many of the characters. Plus, the direction of the film was always clear. Visuals and direction both got an A.
Storyline would have gotten an A as well, but there were a couple of chracters in the film who's presence I really felt didn't need to seen. A-.
This is really not a bad film to see. It's one of those films that get you thinking about how most gays/lesbians must feel just living through everyday life. I enjoyed it and if you think of seeing it, I know you will enjoy it as well. I mean check out the other reviews, not one person has called this film dreadful! |
