Get Real really does have a great storyline. It faces some of the real problems teens have with sexuality today. Everyone loves this teenager for something he's not. And when he really does want to speak out, it's an intolerable act. His lustful relationship with another young man comes to a striking end when he realizes his partener is not as proud of his sexuality as he should be. There was no courageous act of love on his humiliated lover's part. That's what made it good. The story had to do with real life and finding people who aren't afraid to be themselves, and how no one wants the live a lie; though some are too terrified to admit it. |
