People play this movie up as pure seduction or a matter of sex in the teen realm. In other words they act as if the movie is only worth watching if you're a horny little freak. This is simply not true. Sure the movie is about sex and teens, but that's not all it is. This movie is extremely moral--believe it or not.
I originally watched this movie with a roommate at college who, to say the least, was a major pervert. Due to this I was expecting to need to leave half-way through the movie due to sex overload. I was wrong. This movie has a message and if you realize this and watch it the message the sex becomes secondary. This movie is really about love and how sex before marriage, especailly among teens, ruins that experience.
Now that you have this knowledge watch the movie again or for the first time. There is a lot of explicite dialogue but there's a reason for it. Enjoy this film for what it say not what it shows. |
