GREAT UNDERRATED COMEDY

I have always been perplexed why "Bowfinger" wasn't a bigger hit than it was. This movie is screamingly funny, with a great, nutty premise and absolutely wonderful performances by Steve Martin, Eddy Murphy and Christine Baransky, as well as the supporting cast. Sure, an appreciation of comedy is subjective -- but I like to think I can discern between good stupid comedy and bad stupid comedy; and, this is an inspired piece of silliness. If "The 40 Year Old Virgin," "The Wedding Crashers" and "Just Friends" were the class of 2006's comedy crop, see "Bowfinger." It's even better than those three. |
