I found this movie to be fairly interesting all the way through, until the weak and cookie cutter ending ruined it all. Douglas, Paltrow and Mortensen are all quite good here, with Douglas doing a bit of an impersonation of his own "Wall Street" role as the disconnected tycoon, but this time with murder on his mind in place of hostile takeovers. It clearly doesn't hold a candle to "Dial M For Murder" -the classic Hitchcock film on which it is based. But if you were to forget that the original ever existed, you could find yourself enjoying this one. |
