Shakespeare is hard to understand for some and standard teen English helps makes the play easier to understand and the Shakespeare plot makes the movie a great comedy.
This movie parallels Shakespeare's
'The Taming of the Shrew' in many ways which makes it a good movie and the fact that it modernizes Shakespeare into a teen movie. 'The Taming of the Shrew'is a great play. If anyone has read it or wants to read it I will tell you there are many similarities to Ten Things I Hate About You. 1) The name of the school in the movie is the name of the main setting in the play. 2) The main characters Patrick in the movie is as Petruchio in the play, Katarina as Katherina, Bianca as Bianca, and Cameroon as Cambio. 3) Bianca can't date unless Katarina does and in the play Bianca can't marry unless Katherina marries. Overall a good movie for the play; |
