Brazil will be the country of
focus at Rome's fledgling film festival in October, complete
with a carnival-style opening in the city's historic center and
screenings of 10 films from Brazilian directors.
Among the films set to screen at RomaCinemaFest are Walter
Lima Jr.'s 2006 "Os Desafinados" (Out of Tune), a tribute to
Bossa Nova music; the 2007 drama "O Signo da Cidade" (Sign of
the City) from Carlos Alberto Riccelli; and Edoardo De
Andrade's "Coracao Vagabundo," a documentary about popular
singer Caetano Veloso.
The event, now in its fourth year, is scheduled for October
22-31.
