It's only four minutes long, but the prospect of the Iron Man co-star being framed by the guy who played Frank Booth in Blue Velvet should guarantee a fair number of looky-loos.

Taking advantage of the fact that Gwyneth Paltrow's promotional Iron Man duties had her in Italy this past week and weekend, Italian accessories designer label Tod's arranged for Dennis Hopper to write and direct her in a four-minute film promoting the company's handbag wares. Even though this is basically a commercial, the 2008 Cannes Film Festival has agreed to "premiere" it before it then rolls onto the company's official website.
How did these two get involved, you ask? Turns out they are both longtime personal friends of Tod's CEO Diego Della Valle. In fashion, as in film, it's all about who you know.
According to Marie-Claire, the extended advertisement follows along as Paltrow hits the red carpet, the high-end Italian stores and takes a boat ride, all the while carrying her personal belongings in one of the company's signature Pashmy bags. The main attraction is the sight of the actress in a single strap white designer dress.
Sienna Miller recently fronted print ads for the Pashmy bags while in the past, two-time Oscar winning production designer Dante Ferretti (Sweeney Todd, The Aviator) has collaborated with the company on a number of spectacular fashion show installations. There are three kinds of Pashmy bags: the new Bauletto, the Half-Moon and the "original." The only other time Paltrow and Hopper have crossed project paths was at the 2000 Blockbuster Entertainment Awards.
However, Hopper and Paltrow both have films in competition at this year's Cannes event. He stars in Wim Wenders' Palermo Shooting while she appears in James Gray's Two Lovers.
