Synopsis: Michael Jennings (Ben Affleck) is a brilliant computer engineer hired by high-tech corporations for top-secret projects. Once a job is complete, Jennings routinely has his short-term memory erased so as not to divulge sensitive information to future clients. Highly paid, he expects to earn $4.4 billion at the end of a 3-year project, but instead is handed an envelope of random objects and is told that he's agreed to forfeit payment. With his memory erased, he has no way to prove otherwise. With Federal agents hot on his heels, he traces the random objects in search of his past and learns that more than a paycheck is at stake. With the help of Rachel (Uma Thurman), the woman he's worked with and loved for the past three years, Jennings races to rekindle his memory before his former employer has him killed.
