This is quite possibly the most boring movie I have ever seen. The acting was pretty good but that could not prop up the story line. I thought I was going to see a thoughtful dramady but it was painfully sad. The worst part is that I hated the main …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

I kept asking myself what the moral of this story was... I came to the conclusion that being an alcoholic, depressed, arrogant, unhappy washed up writer is somehow better than being a relatively happy person in a small town!!!????more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

It looked like dead water from the opening scenes, but there was a certain anxiety that humor could drag this horse out of the swamps. It didn't happen. It was steadily sinking, becoming more and more desperate, gruesome, creeping towards an imminent …more»8 of 9 people found this review helpful-

Sometimes too much fame leads to acceptance of shallow and misguided attempts to maintain that fame. This script is a perfect example. The movie is trite, preposterous, and banal. The actors do their best to elevate a thin, weak, dull script. Jason Reitman has more talent than this feeble offering. Save your money for something much better.more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

This engaging "little" film by Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody takes you on a slightly demented ride as you follow a small town former Prom Queen's desperate attempt to regain the life she left behind after high school.
This is simply an …more»0 of 6 people found this review helpful-

Saw this movies in previews. Thin script. Very middlebrow concepts and left the film feeling cheated, since I wanted to see something with a little depth. Unfortunately, this film does not cut it. Charlize gives her best, but the less than enlightening …more»6 of 9 people found this review helpful
