Withnail and I(1987)- User Reviews

Hilarious. Richard E. Grant's acting in this movie has to be seen to be believed. Two drug addicts try to survive. I like the scene where his drug dealer tells him that he has drugs that Withnail couldn't handle (such as "the embalmer") and Withnail says, "Oh balls! I'll do anything you've got and run a mile!" They chase rats, drink a lot, get in trouble of various kinds, and accomplish a whole lot of nothing, but it is a great treat to watch. This movie along with the director's semi-sequal "How to Get Ahead in Advertising" prove that Richard E. Grant is the greatest actor of all time by a mile.
