Slow and Boring

star22

I'm sorry, but I could hardly sit through this boring and depressing movie. Yes, the acting was believable and well done, but seriously... who wants to sit through two hours of a movie with absolutely no point except to illustrate how difficult it is to be raised in poverty.

The story was terrible with an equally depressing ending that made me think, "that was two hours of my life I will never get back". I'm not someone who needs to be entertained by hollywood fantasy, but this movie was pointless and did not challenge my thinking in any way. It was just depressing and a waste of my time.

Wow what a realistic movie. If you have ever seen the poverty in Appalachian Mountain or in this case the Ozarks, it is horrific. You wonder why these people resort to manufacturing drugs, what other means of income do they have? Our family farm is in the Appalachian area of Kentucky and it is at an epidemic level. The other thing is that very closed off and territorial aspect of that family goes way back to keeping the federal agents at bay when bootlegging was the primary source of income. Kind of scary... it was so realistic.
