Winnie the Pooh(2011)- User Reviews

A perfect example of what people should see

I just recently saw this movie, and I have to get this off of my chest. This is a perfect movie. I have never been more impressed by something from the Winnie the Pooh franchise until now.

Every character fits their personality. The classic Winnie the Pooh catchphrases ("Oh, bother", "Oh, d-d-d-dear) are here. The classic voices are... mostly restored, especially Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet's voices. The other actors also did a great job. Tom Kenny (of that abysmal SpongeBob) really improved himself in his voice acting as Rabbit in this film.

The stories are once again present. The Eeyore-tail thing is very easy to follow, as is the "Pooh searching for hunny" side of the story. The people did give both of these stories a modern touch, and I found that to be one of the highlights of the film.

The songs are incredibly well crafted by Zooey Deschanel, who sings the new renditions of the Winnie the Pooh theme (where I almost cried), and A Very Important Thing to Do. Did I forget to mention there's a new song called, "So Long". Along with these songs, the songs that the characters sing on are very well made, maybe more than the A.A. Milne shorts.

But the biggest highlight is the ending of the film. The movie ended as any Pooh movie should end. Christopher Robin and Pooh are walking into the Hundred Acre Wood. This ending reminds me a lot of the Pooh series that I really liked, and maybe I will get into that series now that I have praised this movie.

So, overall, this is what families should be spending their cash on. It's a shame that this film is not doing too well at the box office, but maybe that's perfect for a film like this. I don't care how much a movie does at the box office. What really matters is how good the movie is. That's the thing. Winnie the Pooh was, you guessed it, fantastic.
