John Gray's beautiful indie film White Irish Drinkers is a captivating story of a struggling Irish American family in Brooklyn in the 70's. Dealing with an abusive and alcoholic father, and a kind, loving mother, two brothers find themselves torn between leaving their neighborhood and all that they have known. Nick Thurston puts on a truly amazing performance and the young, artistic brother too afraid to leave home, let alone his mother. Stephen Lang also performs brilliantly as the angered and often drunken father. This film is definitely a one of a kind tale that can be related to easily and deserves to be seen by audiences all across the globe.
