This affair was better handled in both the BBC mini series with Edward Fox and in last years King's Speech. No matter how hard she tries there are two things Madonna will not succeed at;
being British and film. She can't act and now we know she can't direct. This is The Wallis Simpson story by way of Julia and Julia with inspiration from a bad Sophia Coppola movie. Making movies is a not for everyone. I still shudder when I recall "Swept Away".
