Good acting, plot and scenery. Some scenes were taken in Tennessee. Only objected to the cruelty to animals, that was bad. Great family movie for adults and youth.

I haven't read the book - but the movie captures a slice of a type of life stile and entertainment that really existed in America in the 20'sand 30's and '40's.....

I loved this movie. I had read the book some time ago, and actually didn't remember alot of the details, but this movie brought it all back. Not only did I love the story, but the acting and the beauty of the movie made it all the more enjoyable. …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Five minutes into the show, I'm wondering what the heck I've gotten myself into. The opening scene is bizarre and it just keeps floating along in the realm of the unconvincing and unremarkable.

Maybe this is a good movie, I didn't see it past the second scene of torturing the elephant. Pretty photography. Acting seemed good. Never got past the torture of the animals.
