War of the Worlds(2005)- User Reviews

Frankly, the original George Pal 1953 version was better, but the Spielberg/Cruise version is also scary. The Martian machines and actions in this version are also more faithful to the HG Wells novel. The giant machines emerging from the earth and vaporizing people is scary, as is what they do with people when they capture them. The movie drags a bit at times, but I didn't feel cheated. It is a pretty good scifi/horror flick.
