A Real Treat!

Leave it to Judd Apatow, the master of the sex comedy, to produce a comedy that is largely sex-oriented, but not ALL sex. He does it with such flare, here.

John C. Reily is a comedic delight as Dewey Cox, a jive musician who's addicted to all sorts of drugs and cheats with women on a daily basis. Dewey Cox is played as the ultimate jerk but Reily masterfully portrays this character as we, the audience, generally dislike him, but we love every minute of his performance. And John C. Reily isn't the only standout, as Kristen Wiig and Jenna Fischer hilariously play Dewy Cox's two love interests.

Jake Kasdan, director of "Orange County" and "Zero Effect" captures the essence of the 60's, 70's, possible 80's, and today to absolute perfection, seamlessly blending the different stages of Dewey Cox's life. And, to more surprise, the music in this film is cleverly written and well-performed! Who would've thunk it?

"Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" is a near perfect film, and everything you could want from both a musical biopic (fake or not), and a comedy. This is by far the best comedy Judd Apatow has produced, and dare I say it, one of the most well-made comedies I've ever laid eyes on.
