Von Ryan's Express is a very well made WW2 movie. Frank Sinatra is again doing a very good job as an actor. The movie does not exactly follow what really happened as told in the book, however, without spoiling, when is a theatrical motion picture ever able to follow a true life story from a book to the letter. This film moves along at a very reasonable pace, and seems fairly authentic, most of the time. If you are looking for a WW2 movie that has action and intrigue, without the extra special effects of late model war movies, this picture is for you.
