Vanity Fair(2004)- User Reviews

I sat down to watch this movie expecting something great. I didnt get it. Yes the acting was at very good level (what I have to say is that I dont remember Reese Witherspoon disappointing me) and the customes were GREAT. But WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE STORY??? Was is that everyone gets what they deserve, was it that if you work for somethign you get it, was it that some are blessed and some aren't? There is just no "Lesson" (if you will) to learn from this movie. I was two hours and a quarter spend watching the life of a gold digger in the 18th Century. Storyless. Thats how I would describe the film -storyless.
