Reese Witherspoon is probably one of the worst actors ever to play in a British movie and an avid participant in this dreadful movie. This adaptation suffers from terrible acting and direction and the characters are not distinct. Although Thackery draws his characters in clear and decisive terms, the director felt that they need no sharp edges.
