Great reviews all around so i caught it on a free HBO preview. Talk about an overrated movie. I think people were blinded by their respect for Denzel, as this was one of his worst movies. When the train first went off my first thought was, get someone on the engine and that'll fix everything. So they drive a pick up truck, and because it was the two doofus' doing it they failed, so I figured it might be impossible for some reason to jump on a train at anything more than 20mph. Then after a bunch of failed attempts done in ridiculous fashion, the finish comes when other guys ride a pickup truck alongside the train going about 50+mph, and that's what saves the day. Why didn't anyone from law enforcement or the train authority try this several times. If not a pickup, then how about a helicopter. The TV news helicopter spent at least 15 minutes about 3 feet from the top of the engine and on the side. yet earlier when the actual rescue team dangles a guy from about 100 feet above the train?! And then Chris Pine gets dumped because he suspected his wife of cheating because he asked who she was texting and she got defensive and refused to tell him. Then she doesn't talk to him for 2 weeks and puts a restraining order on him. Then she sees him on TV risking his life, THEN she wants to get back together? And I'm supposed to have sympathy for her? Only thing good was the action suspense, and Denzel is strong as usual.
