Other than not staying true to the book it's not a bad movie. Unfortunately the movie industry doesn't have enough faith in the story itself so it fabricates scenes and story line. WE *the fans* LOVE the story. WE are the ones watching this in droves for the most part... so why not stay true to the story?
The acting in the Twilight movies is surprisingly bad at times. The best actor in the whole movie is Billy Burke (Charlie Swan). He is the only one with his timing and emotions down and is totally believable. Most of the rest of the main cast over act so badly at times it takes you right out of the movie it's so distracting.
Why do movie makers insist on taking out key concepts and pertinent scenes from existing stories we all know and love and replacing them with filler scenes, that they THINK are better, when in fact they are not, and they actually lose a lot of the love and magic from the original scenes. Still, other than overly hyped (not in the book) fight scenes and a fuzzy holed story line. They did fairly well. The majority of the point of the story is there. Lacks finesse and depth but if you've read the books it's easy to fill in the gaps and holes and ride the story out to Fin.
The first time ocean moon light naked romp... was perfect. Exactly how I imagined it when I read Breaking Dawn the first time.
The ending fade out was predictable but perfectly timed for maximum cliffhanger climax.
Can't wait to see how much they over-do the battle scene at the end of Part 2. Might be book wrong but should at least be entertaining to watch.
