Wow. Never saw the original, but this was a GOOD MOVIE!!! I love it that it is a movie for thinking, listening people (dialogue moves fast with a LOT of tongue in cheek humor). Not a movie for people who need to be strung along. Get involved or see another movie. I wish people talked to each other ever day the way the actors do in this movie. Now I will have to see the John Wayne version (but I bet it's not quite as good).

    The John Wayne movie as far better. Jeff Bridges doesn't have the genuis of the Rooster Cogburn character as portrayed by Wayne. I can't believe the remake received any Oscar awards. What was the Academy thinking?
