(Disclaimer: This is a review of the director's cut). Orson Welles once again shows off his directorial talent in Touch of Evil. Mr. Vargas is an officer working in Mexico when he hears about a strange car bomb mishap that could be attributed to a local gang. As he delves deeper he uncovers a whole world of evil not just on one side of the border but on the other as well. In short, Touch of Evil is exceptional. Right from the breathtaking opening shot Touch of Evil grabs onto you and never lets go. Despite Charlton Heston not seeming to look the part of a Mexican narcotics officer, Touch of Evil is downright incredible. This is a must-see for anyone who has ever come to enjoy a first-rate thriller.
