... the only thing I have to say out Tideland. the film starts out as a simple tale that seems like it is going to be a comedy. What you get is a very perverted, disrespectful/insulting gruesome, disturbing tale that takes you into the bizarre life of one messed up little girl.
I'd flunk the film on spot alone for the plot if it weren't so bizarre and undeniably different. I can honestly say I've never seen anything like this... nor do I really want to again. Also, despite the fact that I just ripped on the film the acting was surprisingly good. Great, near-authentic performances from all the actors; visuals in the film were amazing to.
But still... the film pokes a lot of fun at the dead, is pretty much comprised of disturbing images and scenarios, and seriously seems to have no direction to it.
Judge it for yourself... I'm going to do everything in my power to forget I ever saw this film.
