A typical (very bad) school play written by a very birght, ambitious, English 7 year old, it's kid's parts done by actors who do their (largely inexperianced) very best but are nevertheless so bad they are completely endearing (even if you aren't related to them). Add some fine (more or less adult) British actors (who probably acted thier parts for scale... Oi! it's good to be working, yes?) who, probably because they could get away with it, hammed it up to the max, and top it off with a very wise (14 year old with a good sense of humour) director, who obviously hasn't taken much of any of this seriously. Then add at least a million dollar budget, some not too bad special effects, and some very funny faked out takes (at the end, of course), and you've got this movie that is so awful it's cute. And definately worth seeing at least once.
