Great Special Effects, but somethins missing

Now, before I starts saying anything else, I just wanted to get this one little statement out of the way: for a movie made in 1965, the special
effects, underwater cinematography and the big epic underwater battle sequence that takes place at the films climax, are all stunning. I mean seriously, this is 1965. The audience must have been pissing there pants because they where so stunned by it all. So, despite the fact that many people would probably argue with me about this I honestly believe that Thunderball is actually a film landmark in special effects, and espicially the underwater cinematography. Okay, now that I finally got all of that out of the way, it is time to get toe the review at hand here. Now, I was actually quite surprised by another positive fact while watching Thunderball:
It actually boasts a surprisingly imaganitive and big scale plot, that actually back up the sepcial effects and climax. But, what doesn't back the story up, and what is most certainly the worst aspect of Thunderball, is the fact that
the pace of the story just doesn't cut it. Despite the great action scene near the end, it takes much to long to get there, and it just doesn't hold your interest (considering that is 132 minutes long) for the time limit, even if the underwater scenes are terrific to look at. Another thing that is rather laging in this outing, is the performances, espicially the the supporting characters. Even the villain seems wfully restrained. And, yes, I am rather sad and sorry to say this, but, Sean Connery just lacks the heroic energy to play the boimbostic Bond. Now, I know that this movie, like every other james Bond movie, does have a lot of fans, Well, personally, I apologize for my critisism, but I just expected so much more from the 007.
