The Waiting City(2009)- Production Details

A young Australian couple, Fiona and Ben, arrive in Kolkata to claim their adopted child. They are nonplussed when they discover that their adoption arrangements have hit some bureaucratic snags. As they dig in for a long wait, they comfort themselves with the assurance that their new daughter Lakshmi, whose picture they have cherished for months, will still be theirs. While they wait, Fiona works on her laptop and Ben ventures out into the city. As time passes, the couple responds very differently to the chaos and color of the foreign city around them, and inevitably, they turn on each other.
