This movie attests to the beauty of love and redemption. A man is given a chance to atone for past sins through a tragedy in a time of war. THe images of this movie are vibrant and powerful, especially the one with the fallen statue of Saddam Hussein, and the money blowing in the streets of Iraq. Roberto Benigni is once again, simple yet powerful in his portrayal of his lucid, passionate character. Nicoletta Braschi is coy and mischievious and real. An excellent movie full of humour and warmth with deep truths and heart-wrending images. Beautiful. Just beautiful.
