This movie didn't follow the book series at all. Not even a little bit. Pretty much 99% of everything in the movie never happened in the books. And everything was brought to them on a silver platter right to their doorstep in the movie, even the ultimate fight at the end against Mulgarath was right in front of their house in the movie. They never ventured out in the movie at all hardly. The elves weren't in the movie, the dwarves were never in the movie, and they never went to Mulgarath's lair at all. The griffin was "Summoned" in the movie instead of found nearly dead by the side of the road as it was in the book. And of course it was summoned in the comfort of their own home. The characters were far more immature in the movie and no one was very likeable at all. This movie was very disappointing and an embarrassment to the authors. I can understand having to cut some things out of the books so that the movie would get the story out within a certain period of time, but when they decided to make this film, they pretty much just kept the title of the series and cut EVERYTHING else out and made up their own story.. I was very disappointed in this film. If you've never read the books, then maybe it's an alright film, but after reading the books, all it did was make me mad, because there isn't anything about the movie that coincides with the series besides the fact that it's a fantasy story.
If you've read the books, and enjoyed them, stay away from this movie.. Don't say you weren't warned.
