Almodovar is a genius

star55

I am a fan of Almodovar's film, I have read the reviews here and people just dont get his style, but I do understand why, Americans are so used to the Hollywood's movies which most of them are crap. The movie is creepy and sick but I just love the way Almodovar doesnt give a *****, he goes beyond the ordinary and he made his point with this movie. I was very excited about this movie, its different and amazing. I am a feminist and I do not agree with rape but it is something that is part of this sick world, and Almodovar showed it in this film.

This is a very intense movie. The Doctor engrossed in the loss of his wife in a firery car crash working on a new type of skin for burn victims, his unknown to him mother working for him, his unknown brother visits, his daughter killed in a rape, the rapist taken, given a sex change, but over time the Dr transfers emotion to this person who now looks like his wife and daughter. The sanity maintained by the rapist now female in isolation for years. Then accidently discovers his mother still looking for him challenges him/her to find a way to leave. Leaves with the Dr and mother dead, finds his mother and girl friend who must now see him as a her, and ends with a "funny" ending dialogue statement. A must see movie!
