Let me start by saying that the majority of the users and/or critics that gave this movie a low rating were expecting to be scared, and therefore, bashed the movie because it wasn't scary.

This movie really impressed me in the fact that it sticks to how things would really play out given that demons and exorcisms were real. In my opinion, the "Hollywood effect" has gotten a bit out of hand in recent years. So much so, that the special effects and plots of these movies are entirely unbelievable--ruining the cinematic feature. I am personally glad that director Mikael H�fstr�m is at least attempting to make a believable movie.

The acting in this movie is top-notch. At one point, the main character is experiencing what might be considered irrefutable evidence of a demonic presence, but is portrayed to still be doubting the existence. At first, this seems counterintuitive, but after some thought I realized that I would likely have the same reaction. I would initially insist that certain aspects were coincidence.

The bottom line is if you're expecting to be scared, pass this movie up. However, if you're wanting to see how a real exorcism might be, this movie is right up your alley.
