John Cusack did a decent job in this. My daughter loves Edgar Allan Poe so this was right up her alley.
The jury is out on this one though because (and maybe I missed it in the preview) I didn't get the sense that Cusack was actually playing Poe. …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Not once was I ever bored with this movie. I especially enjoyed seeing John Cusack channel his natural witt into the Poe character. John Cusack was very believable as Edgar Alan Poe. Dark, but not terribly gruesome like other movies. Not a Horror flick, …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

We went to see this with rather low expectations based upon the "professional" critics' reviews. Imagine our surprise, then, when it turned out to be a well-acted, thought-provoking drama without an excess of over-the-top, unrealistic special …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

This movie basically took Edgar Allen Poe's amazing short story the raven and turned it into a slasher film. Why do that? It ruined the whole concept, why take a great tale and make it so different from the original poem! It exhibited scene's …more»0 of 1 people found this review helpful-

I have always loved Edgar Allan Poe. I like John Cusack. Then give him a great intelligent script about Poe and this is one good movie. I have read all of Poe's stories and have visited places in Baltimore associated with Poe. I hate movies which don't …more»0 of 1 people found this review helpful-

Let me start off by saying, I am a John Cusack fan. After seeing "1408", I think he can be a very good suspenseful actor. I've always enjoyed watching movies that take place in the 1800's just because, to me it is very inciting to see …more»3 of 3 people found this review helpful
