Promised Land(2012)- User Reviews

I truly like Matt Dameon, but I am very disappointed that he would support and star in a film without looking into the truth behind the films subject matter. Hollywood can do such much in swaying and educating the public, but this film only continues to cover the truth and promote the lies of those that wish us to continue to be dependent on oil and other energy sources we can not continue to substain ourselves on. The farmers who have the opportunity to lease their land to the natural gas companies are in favor of this process, and those who have have not had these so called devastating effects propagated in this film. HBO is currently supporting another film called gasland which also propagates more lies which enlists a so called specialist who when called before the courts was forced to admit she has no credtials of any kind that support her so called findings which have been proven to be false by several eviromental agencies. Natural gas is a clean energy, and fracking has been proven not to cause danger to water systems or air, no higher levels of cancer or other health problems. Russia would love for fracking to be said to be dangerous than many countries will countinue to dependent on them for their energy and if Russia doesn't like their politics they can stop exporting natural gas to them which has happen twice in the last 20 years. Before Hollywood continues to promote lies and stop progress of an energy source that could potentially give our children new jobs, a cleaner energy source, stop our dependence on other countries for energy, they truly need to do their homework, as do those us that spend our money supporting those that continue to stop the much needed progress. If we let propaganda stop progress we as a nation and as a spieces could be set back decade, and I am not sure we can afford to be ignorant. It's easy to believe the hype it's hard to have your mind, use it, look further than Hollywood and those who jump on any cause just to have one.
