Arrrrr......Monkeys!

There are few films that have a style all their own, especially in a stop-motion type of media. Thanks to Aardman, they have added another family friendly film to their arsonal.

I saw a free showing of this movie in 3D. I usually don't see 3D movies because it costs too much and distracts from the story, but in this case, it added to the whimsy and realistic textures of the handmade characters. Either way is A-Okay. Spend what you like.

I am a fan of Aardman's previous films Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit. I've seen them both several times. I honestly like these two movies more than The Pirates. I wanted to learn more about the crew, especially "the surprisingly curvaceous pirate".

The best part of the movie is the monkey. He has the best comedic timing, and he doesn't even speak, but displays his numerous signs throughout the movie and occasionally change costumes.

Kids will definitely get a kick out of this movie, and adults will enjoy the subtle and outlandish humor this film delivers.
