Doris Day and John Raitt made a great pair in this movie, she playing Babe Williams and he playing the superintendent Sid Siroken. In the movie they both work in a pajama factory. The songs, such as "Small Talk", "Steam Heat", "I'm Not at All in Love", "Hernando's Hideway", and "Once a Year Day," among others, in one sense made the movie. But the story line was too sensitive a matter, because in any economic era unions and raises can cause hostility and occasionally unhappy feelings, as it did between Babe and Sid. But despite that, it is still an entertaining movie which brings viewers back to want to see it.
