This film has all sorts of potential, which ultimately it never lives up to. Hollywood is so darn scared of taking on Scientology, even indirectly, that the result is a limp film like this, which never takes a clear stand on anything. It plods along, with a thoroughly detestable main character, dropping subtle references to L. Ron Hubbard’s pseudo-religion. But never takes a clear stand on anything. The end result is boredom combined with utter frustration and huge disappointment. When will someone, any filmmaker have the balls to attack Scientology head on. Let's see some real conflict!
