Joaquin Phoenix is so good in this film that his mental health in real life could be called into …more»5 of 6 people found this review helpful-

How could this movie have been released? It is disjointed, aimless and confusing. The acting is great but the story is soooooo thin as to be nonexistant. I asked for my money back.
Releasing this movie in its current state is an insult to movie goers …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

And I've waited a year to see it. Boy, what a dissapointment.
The trailers were more interesting than the movie. And much of what was in the trailers, …more»1 of 2 people found this review helpful-

If I've ever wasted money on a movie in my life this is it! Bad premise / no plot / good acting, but that can't save us from a complete flop! This is one movie the studios will advertise lightly, and hope the buzz will "reel" in moviegoers. Hard to …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

Expected to see some form of a plot that entailed a resolution at the end. But when the picture is about two psychotic personalities, guess there is no neat ending. This picture was a waste of my time and my money. I can think of no reason to recommend …more»3 of 3 people found this review helpful-

The master is a very strange kind of a film. It endeavors to be more much more than it is. What saves this movie is the superb acting by Joaquin Phoenix and others. This movie is somewhat long and at several points a bit boring. However, I really do feel …more»2 of 3 people found this review helpful
