The Lovely Bones(2009)- User Reviews

It seems rather apparent from the reviews that if you read the book, the movie is fantastic but for the ones that didn't; like me. . .
Stay away. . . Stay very far away.
The movie is simply awful. It seems that the director, writer, and editor were confused on which direction to take with the movie. Should it be a murder mystery, fantasy, or drama movie? Due to the lack of focus, it is very difficult to relate and feel for the characters, causing the conclusion of the movie to be a "that was it" moment.
The movie seemed to have so much potential but utterly falls flat with the the various abstract elements haphazardly thrown in, overly long scenes, tedious narration, and unsatisfactory ending.
Don't waste money renting this; I saw it on TV and still feel like I wasted 2 hours of my life.
