I love how not only the cat ditches him but also his friend takes a trip across the border to Mexico! The hippie neighbor chicks are ugly and the food is cheap in those days! But Sterling Heyden is the reason to watch and the ending is great just like The Big Sleep! I'm becoming a big fan of Raymond Chandler and the convoluted plots!
