Synopsis

Set in the 1970s, Raymond Chandler's private detective Philip Marlowe takes on the case of his friend Terry Lennox, who has been accused of killing his wife, a crime that Marlowe does not believe he has committed. Before long, Lennox disappears, and Marlowe is jailed for not cooperating with the police investigation. When he is released, Marlowe begins his own investigation into the disappearance, and finds that the mysterious Eileen Wade, who had hired him to locate her alcoholic novelist husband, lives on the same street as Lennox and his deceased wife. As his investigation continues, Marlowe deals with a number of odd characters, and eventually flies down to Mexico in order to solve the case.
