In that Plummer and Mirren almost seemed to be dialing in. They weren't bad, and they can light by the screen regardless, but they clearly underplayed their roles.

The real stars were Kerry Condon and James McAvoy, the young lovers. Both of them inhabited their roles as if they were skins, their chemistry was great, and is something I will remember for a long time.
