Great Dialogue

I first saw this movie while I was in the Navy SeaBees in 1973, and loved it. Watched it again recently on DVD and I enjoyed it even more.

The cast is excellent, and I've known a few characters like Nicholson's. The movie really captures the military mentality as well as the Navy's disdain for the USMC.

I'm not sure if the younger audiences today will hang with all the dialogue and lack of special FX, but us old boomers can really "get it".

For those that remember Gilda Radner from Saturday Night Live, you'll find her in a very small part, with one line.

This is one you can get at a bargain price, and it is more than worth it. It's one of my favorite Jack Nicholson roles.
