No time to go wobbly

How I enjoyed watching the old girl bash her way through history once again! What courage it took for her to lead slumping old England. Reagan had still vital America, but Thatcher picked Britain up off the floor through the power of her will.

The movie was very insightful about several things: the power of ideas over feelings, the contrast between Thatcher and normal politicians, and most all the determination it took to lead that bunch (of cowards).

There is also quite a bit of fiction. The portrayal of dementia was true to life and touching, but none of us knows Thatcher's real experience. The scenes of her early life were fascinating and at least sketched the highlights. And her career must have taken a toll on the family.

It is a very personal story of a historical character. I enjoyed the personal parts, but the history is what really makes it great. And yes Streep's acting was astonishing.
