Too much emphasis on her dementia in the latter years of her life and not enough on her entire life and accomplishments.

I saw the film and am shocked at the criticsm. It did nothing to diminish the stature of this great woman. It showed how she took a nation in decline and put it back on the path to prosperity. It portrayed issues with aging which merely emphasized that like all of us she was human. But that really does not do justice to that aspect of the film. All I can say is it Made the film somehow that much more special and I left thinking it should have been best picture.

Marrgaret Thacher was one of the greatest woman of our time and we must never forget her and her wisdom.

I read the book "Downing Street" about the Thacher years & as ruithless as the PM seems she always made time for her family & had a special phone for them. She had to be powerful & at times ruthless & not very nice because she was with pompous rude English men who are always thinking they are right. She was quite a leader!

All useless babble from people who don't understand morality, considering themselves qualified to comment on it. Bring back the Thantchers and Regans, leaders who still understood what morality and committment meant!

Do you mean Reagan understood commitment? He got divorced from his first wife so how committed was that?

    (1) Agree -- Yahoo WAS -- REPEAT WAS -- where I used to go to read about current and upcoming movies. Now it's a site I visit as an afterthought, sometimes last resort, many times NOT AT ALL when it comes to looking up movies.

    (2) Looking forward to the movie.

everyone will have their old age, their memory faded, unsharpy, yet this is not what we want to remember who Mrs Thatcher is. Streep did alright in performing a half insane lady. I am more annoyed by the motive of the movie author than enjoy actor's performance... A disappointed viewer.

I remember Thatcher, and to see in the movie how she really wanted to change things for the better was fantastic! Although during her time in power many people disagreed with what she was doing (same as Reagan).. Time did prove her right, and she will live on in history as one of the greatest leaders this world has ever known!

The storyline at times made me angry at what the Hollywood leftists had tried to do to such an extraordinary, insightful LEADER...They should have shown the proper story of Lady Thatcher's life and accomplishments in the present tense in proper order, with more of the issues better showing her point of view and reasoning. Do you remember the fantastic team she and Ronald Reagan made at their prime? We certainly need that today with the current world circumstances. Miss it so!!

I agree with John. Yahoo movies suck now without the critics reviews. That being said - I loved the movie when I saw it this afternoon!

Suffer. Thatcher was a demented thug as prime minister now she's just demented. Like Reagan you could see it coming, both unastute unsubtle power hungry thugs. Thats the legacy she deserves.

Bill, you'd be happier watching film clips of Obama playing basketball. Stick with
what you are able to undersrtand.

Awful storyline... I am so sad to say this too... how is it possible a fantastic tale that Ms Thatcher lived could be so tormented in a movie that jerks viewers back and forth from ten years ago to the farther past twenty, thirty, forty times... good grief what a wasted opportunity... so sad.

I agree; bad format, editing and script for such huge talent as Ms. Streep. And what a discrace to Mrs. Thatcher. It made her look like a haunted vs halucinating, demented old woman with disjointed, incomplete flashbacks
leaving the viewer perplexed and disappointed. Shame on the bigwigs; artsy-fartsy did not belong in this story. So sorry, Ms. Streep, I am sure you had no clue going in that it would be such a chopped up mess. Pity.

I am sorry you are unable to follow a plot line that is showing a woman going through the mourning process and letting go of her late husband. I enjoyed that introduction to her life story. I am just sorry that the movie didn't do more on how she and President Reagan brought down the Soviet Union.

Spectacular performance, not only in its portrayal of a fascinating life but in its insightful portrayal of dementia. If you've ever had a parent or loved one with this tragic condition, this movie will speak to you powerfully.

Sorry, movie was just terrible. Streep tried to pull it off. She is a wonderful actress. Do not waste your money. I am glad my tickets were free. Boring, boring, did I say boring.

Hey Jeremy! Personal political leanings have nothing to do with an artitst's performance. Also, you might want to use spell check next time.
