Deliberate, but compelling. This film gives an insightful look at our political times. Who do we trust; who do we believe? Artistically, George Clooney's talent as a writer/director makes him the heir apparent to Robert Redford and Clint Eastwood. He was a star, director, co-writer and co-producer, hats he wore with distinction. He has such a fine hand with his actors, making them the best they can be, especially Ryan Gosling. Here Gosling gets closer to leading man and star status giving his best performance to date, a performance that should land him on Oscar's short list. Supporting cast was excellent with Evan Rachel Wood touching as a love interest lead astray.
